Disaster theory, emergency management, post-colonial theory, race, and reproduction.
Cassandra Shepard is a sixth year graduate student. She is completing her dissertation entitled, "Wash. Rinse. Repeat: the Post-colonial in Post-Katrina." Her project critiques the continuum of colonial practices laden in New Orleans' rebuilding process.
Cassandra has also been an instructor at the School of Art Institute in Chicago. She created and taught courses on both Disaster Theory and Reproductive Rights.
